Choose swim shorts by waist and intended coverage

Use the letter-size table when the product is sold as S, M or L, and the numeric table when it uses a waist label. An elastic waistband covers a range, while a numeric reference identifies a particular waist anchor. The length of swim shorts is a separate product detail rather than a consequence of the waist size.

Check lining, drawcord adjustment and leg opening along with your measurement. Beach shorts and performance swimwear can have different intended fits; the ASOS shorts chart should not substitute for a competition suit’s specialist guide. Keep the original label and product type when comparing across stores.

Check the drawcord, elastic waistband, lining and leg opening. Length varies by product; a waist chart cannot choose your preferred coverage.
