Sock size ranges overlap and one size has limits

The ASOS sock chart links a sock label to a range of shoe sizes and foot lengths. One Size covers 26.2–28.8 cm in this reference; M/L starts at 27.1 cm, so some feet fall into both ranges. The finder returns the first containing band, making the full chart useful when comparing overlap.

A sock label does not specify calf circumference, cuff pressure or sock height. Check those product details if you need a particular feel or coverage. Compression socks and children’s socks use different requirements and should not inherit this men’s chart simply because a foot length looks similar.

Three checks before ordering

  1. Match the product brand, country system and garment type to the selected table.
  2. Keep body and garment measurements separate, with consistent centimetre or inch units.
  3. Check the specific style’s length, width and stretch, then read the store’s sizing and exchange information.

How to measure

LengthLongest toeHeel
Measure both feet and use the longer value. Foot length is not insole length or the CM/JP label.
  1. 01

Measure both feet from heel to longest toe while standing.

  2. 02

Use the longer foot, or read the country system on a well-fitting shoe.

  3. 03

Check sock height, stretch and cuff comfort separately.

A few things labels don’t tell you.

Sock ranges overlap. A suggested range is a starting point; compression socks need their own circumference-based guide.

Common questions

Does one size fit everyone?

No. This ASOS reference lists 26.2–28.8 cm feet for One Size.

Can I use this for children’s socks?

No. This is a men’s reference; children’s sock labels need a separate brand chart.

Can I convert men’s socks to Russia, Japan, Korea or S-M-L?

UK, US and Europe shoe ranges plus S/M and M/L sock labels are available. Measured foot centimetres are not relabelled as Japanese or Korean shoe sizes, and no Russian range is inferred.
